Our Team

Sara D S Maio, BSc, MSc, MCOptom, MBCLA has been practising Optometry since 2008. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings from private ophthalmology practices and NHS hospitals, to community optometry practices. She has a keen interest in specialty contact lenses and ocular surface management. Sara began working at Hertford Optometry in 2019 through a shared passion for clinical research via her colleague and mentor at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Mr Pullum.

 

Kenneth W Pullum, FC Optom, DipCLP is a Contact Lens Practitioner with a specialist interest in clinical applications including Keratoconus, post corneal transplant and in particular Scleral Lens practice. Ken divides his time between the UK hospital eye service and Hertford, which has been established for over 30 years. His many publications include papers on Scleral Lenses and Keratoconus in the Cornea, the CLAO journal, the BJO, Eye, the BCLA and Optometry journals and chapters in Contact Lens text books in the UK and overseas.

 

Liz Atkinson, BSc, MCOptom qualified as an optometrist with a first class honours degree from City University and completed her professional training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in 1991. Since qualifying, she has continued to work part time at Moorfields, specialising in the management of eye conditions with both rigid and soft lenses. She currently runs, and trains other optometrists in Moorfields specialist Cosmetic Contact Lens Service. This provides a range of lenses to patients who have both cosmetic and/or visual needs. Since starting work initially with Ken Pullum in Hertford in 1991 when she first qualified, Liz has gone on to amass a wide range of experience working in the community in private practice.
